Founder and Designer Sophie explains "I am passionate about slow fashion and capturing the stories behind the clothes we wear. I want to highlight the importance of knowing where your clothes come from, interweaving the connections between the artisans and their traditions with my personal journey.
My goal is to connect people to place and to all aspects of the amazing
sustainability of the Alpaca fibre. I aim to really tell our customers the story
about where their products come from and introduce them to the people who
make their clothes, in a way that promotes more conscious consuming
and the rejection of fast fashion".
The fleecy coat of the Alpaca is renowned for being among the softest in the world. An alpaca produces enough fleece each year to create several soft, warm sweaters for our comfort. This is only one of the ways in which the alpaca contributes to slow fashion, sustainability and energy conservation!
Alpacas have been domesticated for over 5,000 years and, being sensitive and well-adapted to their environment. They are an eco-friendly animal farmed with sustainable practices in their native habitat, the Andes Mountains of South America.
