Nisa is an ethical underwear label that employs women from refugee backgrounds. All of their organic cotton garments are made in the Nisa Wellington studio. Nisa means 'women' in Arabic, but for Nisa and their team it stands for sisterhood. Nisa's sewing team are women from refugee backgrounds. They have pre-existing sewing skills, and are provided with professional training to sharpen them up and welcome them into the team. For many of the Nisa employees, it's their first ever job. Working at Nisa means a lot more than a pay cheque - it's about confidence speaking English, making friends and feeling a sense of purpose in the everyday.
