For this weeks Top Tips Tuesday I will be introducing you to three of my favourite sustainable fashion vloggers. They say "Millennials" respond better to video blogs ... easily digestible content. I must admit I love to watch a good "How to" video.
Anyway, these vlogs are my ultimate faves and you will not regret checking them out!
Walk Sew Good - Megan & Gabs
Megan and Gabs are the hilarious duo behind the fabulous Ethical Fashion Vlog Walk. Sew. Good. They describe themselves as "two dorks" but I just think they are fabulous and we have become great friends over the past 18 months.
If you don't know who this fabulous duo that go by the name of Walk. Sew. Good then let me give you a brief rundown, you can thank me later for introducing you to these hilarious gals!
Gab and Megan are currently walking, yes WALKING across Southeast Asia, approximately 3500kms to speak with and learn from the people in the region making clothing in positive and sustainable ways. They film their adventures and share them on social media to raise awareness of a better kind of fashion industry.
Not only do they bring us amazing, possitive stories about the fashion industry, they also throw in a few "funnies", a personal favourite of mine is Gab's "Worst Case Scenario" videos, as you can imagine walking across South East Asia would provide a lot of content for these videos.
Seriously, these girls are changing the was we think about sustainable fashion, proving its not boring, brown and hemp all the time.
Leotie Lovely - Holly Rose
The wonderful and smart Holly Rose is the inspiring blogger/vlogger behind the conscious living blog Leotie Lovely, bringing you sustainable tips and tricks.
Holly describes explains "I believe that in order to be the change we wish to see, each individual needs to learn the circular story behind every object they purchase or use, and I’ve dedicated myself to recounting that narrative".
The Leotie Lovely Youtube channel is simple and easy to understand, Holly doesn't over complicate sustainability - lets face it we all have our struggles. She also like to keep it real. How? Well one of my personal favourite vlogs is called "Angry vegans don't make more vegans, kind vegans do" in this vlog she is absolutely not attacking the vegan community, she is a vegan herself, being well well aware of how important it is to our planet and its inhabitants. Eating a plant based diet is the easiest way to take the power to save the world into your own hands and I wholeheartedly encourage making this shift.
But, let's face it we all know and angry vegan and to be honest, they give vegans a bad name and reputation.
One reason I LOVE Holly, she recently wrote a children's called Leo & The Lion Learn of Love. A book she wrote the conscious children's book for her nephew in response to the terrorist attacks here in Paris as a way to explain how love vs hate and how LOVE will always win.
If you're new to conscious living or having been doing it for a while and just need some more inspiration Leotie Lovely is the perfect blog for you.
My Green Closet - Verena Erin
When I first started on my very own sustainable, conscious fashion journey I would watch My Green Closet religiously. Verena Erin or as she is known Erin, is the queen of Capsule Wardrobes, Conscious buying and top tips on minimalism.
While studying and working in fashion Erin learned about the terrible ethical and environmental issues in the industry. It made her question her career choice and reassess her personal values. She started buying less clothing which sparked her minimalism journey, and researching alternatives.
Imagine those video bloggers who do fashion hauls, taking you through each fast fashion piece of clothing they have purchased as part of their haul, well, Erin's videos are like that BUT for sustainable fashion with the concept of buying less and choosing well.
If you're looking to put together a Winter capsule wardrobe, minimise your space, learn how to outfit repeat this video blog is for you.
