Picture this, it's a Sunday afternoon, it's chilly out, so you get snuggled up in your cozy pyjamas and watch Netflix all day.
This is literally my favourite thing to do before the busy working week starts again.
So, if you're thinking "Hey! I would love to do that but my pyjamas are a bit crappy and could do with some new ones that make me feel like I'm being snuggled by 1000 fluffy kittens", then this is the blog for you.
Here are my Top 10 Ethical Pyjamas:
Modern bedding made with innovative, sustainable fabric. Engineered for comfort. On average, we spend a third of our lives in bed. So one of the biggest investments you can make is to choose natural, organic, and cruelty-free sleepwear/pyjamas.
Slip into pyjamas so silky-smooth, they’re the next best thing to wearing nothing at all. Fashioned from our signature CleanBamboo™.
Since 1991, Coyuchi has been crafting the finest, coastal-inspired organic bedding, sheets, towels, robes, apparel and more for a clean, environmentally conscious home. We intend to change the way people think about buying home textiles by providing transparency, product innovation and practices that limit harm to the environment and the people that live in it. Transparency is being open about our supply chain, fiber, chemistry and safety. We are product innovators and our business model and our commitment to organic, regenerative and circular are with the planet and people in mind. We see ourselves as disruptors in the way home textiles are made and activists for a cleaner and safer planet.
Dream States was launched in late 2017 by Eugenie Meeker, a Melbourne local who grew up on a small farm near Geelong.
Being inspired by nature, sustainability and colour stories the label was founded. Through a desire to bring about change to the fashion industry Dream States exists to encourage people to invest in long-lasting high quality pieces that are kind to the environment, having minimal impact and long wear. We use plant-based fabrics only, hand-dye our own fabric using low-impact methods and produce everything locally.
Dream States values systems that are honest and resourceful. We have currently utilised all our fabric scraps into soft fillings for cushions and for hair accessories which enables us to be zero waste. This is a principal we hold close to our hearts and hope to encourage intelligent conscious decision making in the fashion industry.
GENERAL SLEEP STORE
Made from sustainably sourced cotton-linen and woven on hand looms in India, General Sleep’s collection of sleepwear has been beautifully considered to soften with time.
To trace our process and offer upmost transparency to our wearers, we recently visited the community of women weavers, that our pyjama collections are created in collaboration with, in the South of India.
Originally set up to preserve the handloom techniques, the initiative supports the local community by paying their weavers a living wage.
Working in large passive buildings equipped with solar power and utilising as much green technology as possible, the weavers handloom our bespoke fabric from locally sourced cotton, which is then hand cut and stitched on site.
Meeting our weavers has enriched our process and desire to continue creating a kind and meaningful exchange.
We make sure; you can rest easy in General Sleep.
