When I first started eco|mono I thought, it's me, myself and I, it's my business and I am going at it alone. A pretty scary but very exciting thought. It wasn't long until I realised I wasn't actually in it alone, I have advisors, marketeers, stylists, PR and yet I don't actually have any staff. All of these people are small business owners, they have been there, done that, worn the t-shirt and are still on a fabulous small business journey.
eco|mono launched and yes I did my own marketing, buy it was other bloggers and small business advocates out there that sold my eco|mono story for me - a real tribe of legends!
So, recently I reached out to a bunch of small businesses and together we are creating thank you boxes and sending them out to 10 other small businesses who have supported us on our journey.
I contacted brands I truly believe in and want to support and together we have created the BEST thank you boxes.
Now, these guys are really close to my heart, Alec and Lee, boyfriend and girlfriend based in Melbourne are genuinely lovely people. I used to work with Alec at a small event production company before I went out on my own. I remember Alec coming to me one day and asking if he could have a delivery of moisturiser dropped off and stored at our warehouse... little did I know HEMP ME we going to be as amazing as it has turned out to be.
HEMP ME are revolutionising how people use hemp in their daily lives. Their first product that is made here in Australia is a hemp-based face cream packed with nature’s finest ingredients such as hemp seed oil, aloe vera, chamomile extract, jojoba oil, and kakadu plum oil. Yes, it smells and feels ah-mazing!
I first met Sarah Holloway back at a League of Extraordinary Women in 2016, she spoke about her business MATCHA MAIDEN and the Matcha Mylkbar which had recently opened in St Kilda. I was so inspired by her drive and passion not only for her business but for women in business! She is an advocate for healthy living and that is exactly what MATCHA MAIDEN is, 100% pure organic green tea leaves ground into powder. Up to 137 times the antioxidants of regular green tea!
Run by a good friend of mine Peta Johns, she is a true girl boss, after spending a full day at her full time job she heads home to hand make each and every polymer clay accessory she sells. Small supply chain, hand made, made in Melbourne. Peta is such a true advocate for small businesses, often looking for ways she can help others in the same position as her.
When I read about Soak Society's Founder Natalie, I felt like we were soul sisters, she's a hard working business owner who enjoys a bubble bath to unwind... hello... me too!
Natalie explains how down-time to reflect, unwind and relax is SO important for everyone. Soaking is about reconnecting with yourself, and this is often when those 'lightbulb' moments appear. Every girl boss should get to enjoy a Soak Society bath, full of bright colour salts and fabulous smells. If you want to take a wine and book with you too you would have the whole package!
Because after you've bathed with Soak Society it's time to give your skin some love. A small business based out of Sydney run by three passionate hair and make-up artists, Emma, Alex and Ella, they are like Charlie's Angels of the natural skin care industry.
