A couple of months ago I wrote you a blog post on how to declutter your wardrobes. Now, this post will take you through the next steps, how to create your own Winter capsule wardrobe.
There are SO many blogs out there on how to create a capsule wardrobe, each telling you different rules. I am not going to do that, I believe in keeping it pretty simple. That way you're more likely to actually do it - right? Let's start with the basics, it's all about choosing items that you can mix and match with other items in your wardrobe.
As ecomono focuses on black, white and grey this makes creating a minimal wardrobe pretty easy. However, if you want to add some colour to wardrobe I would suggest sticking to 3 colours. It's also a good idea to choose items that you can layer, especially if you are going to be in and out of an office all day.
Choose shirts and blouses that you can wear under a sweater for either a smart or casual occasion. Here is an example of tees, shirts and sweaters to create your own combinations.
The next step is to introduce your additions, these are items such as coats, jeans, skirts and dresses. This is where you can get a bit more creative. These items you can pair with all of your basics and create a wonderful world of outfits. Don't be afraid to use some prints and bold patterns, just because you have a minimal wardrobe doesn't mean it needs to be boring!
Finally, it's time to add your shoes and accessories. Here's where we need to be practical but keep it fun. It is Winter so we need to be warm. Add a pair of comfy boots that can be worn with jeans, skirts or dresses - these will be your best friend trust me! When it comes to accessories it nice to have a choice, you don't want to feel like you look the same every day. So add a couple of different options, I would recommend two scarves, two bags and two totally different hats. Also throw a pair of sunglasses in there, we live in Australia after all it may be cold but it's still bright.
All of the items used in this Winter Capsule Wardrobe are from ethical, sustainable brands and labels from Australia and beyond if you would like to know who they are just get in touch!
